| Library history The Library began in the historic Bank of Elkins building as a branch of the Ozark's Regional Library in 1987 through the hard work of several individuals including the librarian Wanda Hatabaugh. In 1997 the Library became the Elkins Public Library, a municipal library of the city of Elkins. The Library moved to the Elkins Community Center on January 1, 2000. Circulation, has increased tremendously throughout the 2000s as can be seen from the chart below. Other measures of growth such as attendance and computer usage have also sharply increased. |
