E-books and Audio Books Now Available for Download Did you get an e-reader for Christmas? Now available - downloadable books and audios. Click here to go to the Arkansas Library 2 Go website and download thousands of popular titles to your computer, reader or audio device. If you can't figure out how to get it all to work stop by the library and get help. A class on Library 2 Go will be held on February 23 at the library at 7 PM. Story Time Resumes February 9 at 10:30 Miss Sherry and Rocky are back for the pre-school set. Join their adventures with Rocky's new venture - a pet shop! Join the fun with stories, music and an art project. Sign Up for Health! February is the month for the Blue and You Fitness Challenge sign-up. The program is simple - you engage in brisk exercise three days a week for a half hour. You can choose what you do, who you do it with and how you log your time. Need more information? Civil War Sesquicentennial The library will be observing the 150th anniversary of the civil War with programs and materials. Alan Thompson from the Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park will be at the library on Thursday, February 16 at 7 PM to present a program on how the war affected our area. We will also be honoring our friends and volunteers that evening with dessert. Children's Valentine Program Tammy Knowles will be putting on a program for kids on Saturday, February 11, at 11 AM with a Valentine's Day theme. There will be stories, snacks and a craft. New Computers, New System, Basic Class Offered The new year brings a leap forward in technology for the library. New patron and staff computers, complete with the Windows 7 operating system and Office 2010, are now available. Computer users will notice improved speed and response. You will notice a change in how you search for materials on the website, too. We are using new software from Polaris. Your password is your last name with the first letter of your last name capitalized. The Basics computer class will begin on February 13 and 14. This class starts at the beginning and covers email and the Internet. Classes are limited to 6 students and you can choose evening or morning classes. Call the library for additional information. |
